GDAs making a real difference

Members of the Food and Drink Federation are convinced that nutrition labelling based on Guideline Daily Amounts (GDAs) is a powerful tool to help improve the food literacy of UK consumers.

Peer-reviewed research by influential organisations such as European Food Information Council (EUFIC), as well as our own research, confirms our belief that GDA labelling is making a difference for British consumers.

Our success here in the UK is being replicated across Europe – where GDA labelling is being rolled out on a voluntary basis in all 27 EU Member States. And the European Commission has put a system based on Guideline Daily Amounts (GDAs) at the heart of a new food labelling regulation currently being negotiated in Brussels.
