Changes to labelling on products sold in the UK

An EU document (called the ‘Food Information to Consumers’ regulations) introduced changes to the information provided on almost every food and drink product sold in Europe, helping to make product labels easier to use.

The new regulations came into force on 13 December 2014 and labels have already started to change.

The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) has created this website and a downloadable guide to help identify some of the changes that have been introduced under this legislation and provide information to help interpret food labels and use them.

Important notice: This website is designed to give an overview of the new regulations and should not be taken as a complete guide to all labelling legislation.
